  • Found my colours!

I went to Lincraft during lunchtime today to have a look at the cloths there. I'm not looking for a particular material, just as long as it's not too soft and crumples easily and must look formal. I went there today to look for colours so that I can send a sample of it to Albert for his tailor to match.

Found the colour I want! Shell pink or apricot, may look a bit nude but match it with the sash and it looks classy! And sweet! Anyway, I will send samples to all my girls (4th girl blank, still deciding between 2 girls...) so please type me your address ('cept you Mel cause I'll be seeing you this Saturday) and I'll send your swatch to you!

Hope you like what you see, though it's under orange light but basically, all wear the same colour, bridesmaids have a deep gold sash while my maid-of-honour (that's you Chris) wears a french cream sash, close to ivory.

    Tada!!!

    Please say you like it!!

  • Slow response!

Ok, the only people responding to this blog are Chris and I. I guess the other girls don't mind how we dress them up...hmph! Ok Chris, guess it's just you and me and the rest of the wedding >.<

Anyway, my wonderful and proactive fiance had gone to meet his tailor in hongkong who specializes in formal suits and dress-making and came back with a very nice price quote but not very flattering design. However, he has assured me that she can try to create (recreate) any dress I want for a similar price tag.

I've gone through somewhat with Mel and Albert and this is what will be shown to the dress-maker (Pay attention now cause it's slightly confusing):

    1. Strap top (Pictures 1 and 2 but slightly higher back)
    2. Skirt and sash (Pictures 3 and 4)
    3. Whole dress in this particular shade of pink (Picture 5)
    4. Waist sash and bottom band of the skirt (refer to Picture 3 and 4) in gold (Picture 6)

Is it confusing? Basically it's a whole dress in pink with a gold sash around the waist and a gold band at the bottom of the skirt. The style is a combination of pictures 1-4. I like the straps and the gathers at the collar line of Picture 1 and 2 because it's more elegant than the one in Pictures 3 and 4 which kinda looks like a summer dress. But I like the skirt and sash of Pictures 3 and 4. Hope this makes sense.

These dresses I found on this website: www.jimhjelm.com and the dresses there are gorgeous! Comes with a high price tag as well so I guess we'll have to go slightly el-cheapo!

    Tell me what you think!

  • Bonbonnieres: Salt & Pepper Shakers

As usual, am lazy to type because as with all previous entries, I choose half an hour before my bedtime to create the blog. Today was very cold and it made me lazy. I fell asleep with my mouth open behind my computer screen. Wonder if any of my directors saw me? Reminds me of that funny colleague who sits next to you, Chris! Hahahhaha...can't help laughing now. The nerve of that guy!

This may be a common bonbonniere to have: Salt and Pepper Shakers! I surfed Alibaba.com for exporters and came across these which were mostly manufactured in China, Hong Kong and Thailand. I wish to lay them out on the dinner plate, upon a folded napkin, and tied together with an organza ribbon and a thank you note attached to it....Was that sentence confusing? Read it again then! :)

Albert still likes the cupcakes from Wondermilk but it's a bit hard because they only deliver within KL area (I think) and the other option is to pick them up ourselves...but would people want to eat a 3 day old cupcake? Don't know, but I really love their cupcake designs. Will post it later along with other wedding favour ideas.

  • Bridesmaid Dresses

    Helloooo

Have finalized my wedding colours and decided to go for:

    Shell Pink/Apricot Pink/Peach Pink.....Gold........Dash of Yellow..........and ofcourse, Ivory white

I chose them because choosing one colour is too dull, and these colours match our Asian skin very well, not to mention the faux innocence these colours radiate over the ceremony!
The option of other colours besides pink would greatly benefit the male party ofcourse. :)

That would mean a combination of these colours for bridesmaid dresses. I'm thinking the pink with a gold sash around the waist.

My Maid of Honor, the venerable Miss Christine Leong will need to differentiate her appearance somewhat from the others and I suggest a nice fascinator on your hair (I like the ones with a little bit of net over one eye) and the other girls will have an elegant flower pinned to their hair.

Would you girls like to have your hair up or down? I'm trying to leave my hair long now so that I can have it up during the day ceremony, and would like it if you girls did the same as well because I'm particularly inclined towards the clean-cut look. I'm still open to suggestions tho... not! Just kidding. Hehe.

Anyway, I'll put up pictures of bridesmaid dresses I have found on the internet. I just need your votes for which dress you prefer. But girls, you make not get exactly what you like, but at least I have an idea of what you prefer yah?

    My preference in descending order:

Remember these are style photos yah? Not colour, altho I tried my best to find the colours. I really like the first one lor...

    Let me know :)
